A Class on Calvin? Yes!

This fall our Sunday morning School of Theology discussion group will have a five week course on the thought of John Calvin, presented by Jon Rinnander. We will be reading Life in God: John Calvin, Practical Formation, and the Future of Protestant Theology by Matthew Myer Boulton. It is a stunning book which shows us the many gifts which the Reform Tradition brought into the Anglican synthesis. The author was a professor at Harvard Divinity School and is now president of a seminary of the Disciples of Christ. He also plays in a bluegrass band.

Shake up your prejudices and discover one of the great guides to the Christian life as lived by lay people in real cities, not monasteries and convents. The class begins Sunday, September 9th at 9 AM in the Womble Library, and will continue September 16th and 23rd, concluding October 7th and 21st.  Prepare now by ordering Life in God from Amazon. All items ordered through the Amazon link on the church website (http://smaa.blogspot.com or http://smallangelstucson.org) benefit St. Michael’s with a small rebate.
