Opportunities for Giving

√    Fill a Bag for Mom. This year once again we invite you to celebrate Mother’s Day by donating a bag of groceries for the needy in honor of, or in memory of, your mother.  These groceries will be used to stock our Food Pantry shelves throughout the summer.  Bring the groceries to church on Mother’s Day, May 13th.  They will become a special part of our offering during all four Masses.

In the week following Mother’s Day, a letter will be sent to each mother in whose honor groceries were given  – telling her of the sustaining gift you have given in her name.  Also during this week we will give thanksgiving for, and remember in our prayers, those mothers in whose memory these gifts were given. Extra Bags are available on the Usher’s Table in the back of church along with grocery lists and detailed instructions.

STEWARDSHIP BY THE NUMBERS
Alleluia! The Lord is Risen! How does our money and the stewardship we exercise over it relate to the message of Easter? It may be as simple as saying: I believe Jesus rose from the dead. I believe that Jesus’ risen life can be experienced in word and sacrament. I believe Jesus intended his followers to be part of a community of faith. I give sacrificially so that the ongoing ministry of justice, peace, and reconciliation can be lived out in Jesus’ Name.

Thanks to everyone for making the Special Easter Offering such a success! Your faith gifts resulted in a total of $7,413 being raised. This is in addition to $12,626 given on Palm Sunday and Easter. When you add all the time and effort preparing the Liturgies of Holy Week and Easter: cleaning and repairing the Walsingham Chapel after the fire, all the beautiful music, the decoration of the church, and all who served and read at the services, and worked with our baptismal candidates, you have a tremendous expression of faith and love. Jesus is “indeed” risen and lives among us!
