Announcements Ending February 16th, 2014

• Sunday, February 16 is THE LAST SUNDAY to bring “Epiphany Gifts for Primavera” homeless programs. Diane Tyron, who delivers your donations, says Primavera has been especially grateful for the toiletries and the new socks and underwear, and Diane is impressed with peoples generosity. She thanks everyone, and we thank her. At the moment Primavera has sufficient used clothing, so let’s fill the gold chest to overflowing with new socks and underwear, toiletries and blankets. It’s ok to include items for women, as Primavera also has a transitional housing program for women. [Reminder – collections for St. Michael’s Food Pantry and Deacon Mike’s Shoebox are always “running in the background” and ready for your attention. The Epiphany Gifts project is organized by your Social Action Committee.]

• SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 22^ND ~ 6 PM ~ SOCIAL ACTION HOUSE MASS / POTLUCK / MEETING ~ at the home of Marjorie King and Jim Steinman, 3000 E. Linden. Bring food, ideas and a will to work and worship. Everyone is most welcome as we explore how we live the Baptismal commitment to “seek and serve Christ in all persons,” AND enjoy one another’s company.

Announcements for Week Ending February 7, 2013

 

Contemplative Prayer Group meets this Saturday, February 1^st at 9:30 am at the Our Lady of the Desert House of Prayer. The format is that we enter in silence and begin with 25 minutes of silent meditation and prayer, followed by a DD, CD or readings and then discussion. We close with coffee and social time. A printed schedule of topics for each week can be picked up in the back of church. All are invited to attend.

CASA MARIA THIS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7^TH AT 5PM IN THE PARISH CENTER. BRING A FRIEND AND TWO DOZEN SHELLED HARD BOILED EGGS. JOIN US IN THIS SERVICE TO OTHERS LESS FORTUNATE.

Hold the frankincense and myrrh. Primavera Foundation will be happy to accept your gold at any time. 

 

The service for Flo Hartung is this Saturday, February 1st at 11:00 AM with reception to follow.

May her soul and all the souls of the just through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen †

The Feast of the Epiphany is Monday, January 6th. Celebrate with us, beginning with Holy Eucharist at 5:30 PM, followed by a “Pot Luck” Dinner. The “Epiphany Cake” is featured! ALL ARE INVITED!
