St. Michael’s Annual Parish Meeting
Congratulations to slate of candidates for the Vestry that were elected by acclamation: Richard Dolan, Steve Larsen and Colby Maye. Steve Coulter was re-elected as the Junior Warden by acclamation, and Debbie D’Amore was reappointed as the Senior Warden.

The delegates to the Diocesan Convention were presented and elected: Proscovia King, Steve Larsen, Paulette O’Malley, Joyce Tracy and Alex Wright.

A heartfelt thanks to all the parish organizations: Altar Guild, Casa Maria, Sunday School and Child Care, ECW, Social Action Committee, Meals Programs, Office Volunteers, Parish Life and those who serve in various capacities at Mass.

SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER ~ February 16 ~ 5:30 – 7pm. Cooking and clean-up help gladly accepted. Donations of juice, fruit, syrup and sausage etc. also will be gratefully received. Sign up sheets available in back of church.

Children's Envelopes ~ there are boxes of children’s contribution envelopes located in the back of Church. If you do not find a box with your name, please take a box and sign your name on the list with the corresponding number found on the box.

St. Michael’s ECW will be sending a check for $543.00 to the Episcopal Relief and Development Office for the Haitian relief effort. This was made possible by the success of our bake sale and your generous donations. We thank you for your continued support.

Angel Food Candy is running out! - There are only a few boxes OF Angel Food Candy remaining. Just stop by the church office for your Angel Food. Think Valentine's Day! Share the goodness and sweetness of St. Michael and All Angels Church.

Our treasure chest is open for those who would like to donate new underwear, socks, mittens, blankets and sleeping bags to help men, women and families in need throughout this winter season. The Primavera Chest will be available through Sunday, February 14.

St. Michael’s Annual Parish Meeting
Mark your calendar for St. Michael’s Annual Parish Meeting which will take place at the 9:00 AM Mass NEXT Sunday, January 24th. Sunday School and child care at 9:00 AM. Please note there will be ONE Mass on this day. A brunch will follow the Mass and meeting in the Parish Center. This is a very important parish function with Vestry election and various parish reports. We need your input and support.

ECW – Episcopal Church Women will meet on Wednesday, January 20th at 10:30 in the Parish Center. All women of the parish are invited to attend.

Angel Food Candy is running out!
There are only a few boxes OF Angel Food Candy remaining. Just stop by the church office for your Angel Food. Share the goodness and sweetness of St. Michael and All Angels Church.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all parishioners who so generously gave gifts for the Angel Tree. There were 35 children this year and each received a gift of clothing, or a book, or toy or a game. Other Announcements


E.C.W ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON will take place on Wednesday, December 16th at 11:00 AM at the Parish Center. PLEASE NOTE – THE MEETING WILL NOT START UNTIL 11 O’CLOCK FOR THIS MEETING ONLY! All women of the parish are invited. Reservations made on the sign-up sheet in the back of church. The delicious luncheon will be prepared by EnJoy Cooking and is $8.00 per person. Won’t you join us? The last day for reservations is no later than Monday, December 14.

CHRISTMAS FLOWERS - the special beauty of St. Michael’s Christmas worship is the work of many people. Not all can be directly involved, but all can contribute to the Christmas Flowers and Decorations. Please use the Christmas Flowers envelope for floral donations.

Angel Food Candy is still available! Don’t forget your “Angel Food” for last minute Christmas gifts in an attractive gift-ready box. This is an affordable means of sharing the fund raising effort by your parishioner volunteers. Just stop by the church office for your Angel Food. Dues are Due!
It is not too late to submit your St. Margaret’s Altar Society dues of $15.00. Your response is needed. Simply drop a check in the collection, with Altar Guild written in the memo or stop by the Parish Office. Thank you for your kind attention to this important matter.

ANGEL TREE GIVING
Angel Tree tags are available for pick-up from the Christmas tree at the back of church.  Please be sure to sign the sheet on the usher’s table so that we will know what children’s names have been taken.

This year we have approximately 35 children. You have been so generous with your gifts for the children. It is a real blessing for me to be involved.   As usual, each child will receive a clothing gift and a toy … book ….game…etc. This year I need your gift, unwrapped, and returned to the office or brought to church no later than Sunday, December 13. Please remember to include the tags for return if any of the items are the wrong size or color. Most stores will give these when the gift is purchased. For any of you who would like to participate but are unable to shop, let me know and I will be glad to take care of it for you.

Angel Food Candy!

It is time again for Saint Michael’s Angel Food! Remember an angel you love this coming Christmas holiday with the best Coconut Macadamia Toffee you have ever tasted.

Candy production will take place prior to Thanksgiving. An order blank is printed below for your convenience, or can be downloaded in PDF format here. Orders will be mailed as requested or can be picked up at the church office starting Friday, November 20.

Proceeds from your purchase will benefit Saint Michael and All Angels Church and School programs.

St. Michael’s Annual Thanksgiving Mass And Dinner – November 26th.
Mass will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by Thanksgiving dinner in the Parish Center at Noon. Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, a vegetable and rolls will be provided. Just bring a simple side dish or a pumpkin pie to share. Sign-up sheets are in the back of church. You are invited to join us for a festive dinner and fellowship.

The Arizona Ecumenical Council – 2009 Annual Tucson Banquet
“Celebrating the Mission of Unity” – Friday, October 30th, 6 PM
Dinner catered by “Enjoy Cooking”. the program featuring Fr. Joe Rodrigues, SDS an inspirational speaker. The cost is $30 per person and you will be seated at a table reserved for St. Michael’s. Please see the insert and call the parish office for your reservation.

Two Bible Study Times
Wednesdays at 10am and 6:30pm Peter Schmidt leads a Lectionary-based Bible Study. This study of scripture takes the three-year cycle lectionary readings proclaimed at the liturgy each Sunday. At this time, we are reading various texts from the Old Testament, the Letter to the Hebrews, and the Gospel of Mark. By studying the readings for the up-coming Sunday, you can better understand the texts and can be attuned to hear the sermon. The study meets in the Womble Library. Parishioners and guests are welcome!

ANGEL TREE GIVING
It is almost time for ANGEL TREE again. The tree will be up on Sunday, November 29th, the first Sunday in Advent. You have all been so generous with your gifts for the children. It is a real blessing for me to be involved. We will have approximately 35 children again this year. As usual, each child will receive a clothing gift and a toy….book….game…etc. Please sign the list so that I will know who has which child and return your gift, unwrapped, to the church no later than Sunday, December 13th. As always, I will be glad to do shopping for anyone wanting to choose a child, but unable to do the shopping. My thanks to each of you. If you have a problem or a questions, please call me at 991-2354.

AZ Football vs Washington State - Saturday, November 7 at 4 PM.
Seats are in the End Zone and are $20.00 each.
(Tickets must be pre paid in the church office.) Sign-up sheets are in the back of church. (If you prefer, you may simply place your check in the collection basket with the notation “FOOTBALL” in the memo section of the check. This method would also work for tickets for the Gaslight, just make sure the memo states “Gaslight”.)

CASA MARIA WILL MEET THIS FRIDAY,

OCTOBER 23RD AT 6:00 PM

Your help is needed to prepare sack lunches for the homeless and disadvantaged of Tucson. Volunteers can always use a few “eggstra” hands and as always “shelled” hard boiled eggs. Join them for fellowship and to help with this good work.
