Announcements for Week Ending October 30th, 2005

MIF Series - Adult Forum is underway in the Parish Center, Sundays from 9:00 to 9:45 AM. The next topic, on Sunday, October 30th, is "The Practice of Prayer," presented by Margaret Shetka. All are welcome.

Mass For Church Unity every Friday at 12:10 PM
Join celebrant Fr. Womble at this Church Unity service.

Casa Maria Volunteers will meet this Friday at 6:30 PM,
in the Parish Center, to prepare sack lunches. Your help is needd! The volunteers can always use a few extra hands and shelled hard-boiled eggs. Join them for fellowship and to help with this good work.

Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Meeting this Wednesday
starting at 10:00 AM, in the Parish Center. All women are invited to attend. Reminder: please turn in your sold ECW Raffle tickets; drawing for the 20" Flat Screen TV/DVD is Sunday, October 30th.

Angel Food Candy Making 2005.
We are at that point on the calendar where St. Michael's parishioners will start making our wonderful English Toffee dipped in chocolate, rolled in toasted macadamia nuts and macaroon coconut, then boxed in a beautiful red and gold metallic printed gift box. Volunteers are needed from November 3rd through November 12th. Volunteer sign up sheets will be available next Sunday. Orders are now being taken for your convenience, an order form is included in the bulletin. Extra forms will be on the ushers' cabinet in the coming weeks. Share the goodness and sweetness of St. Michael and All Angels Church!

ECW Casserole ad Bake Sale is this Sunday, October 30th,
in the Parish Center following both morning services. Purchase delicious food and/or desserts, and support St. Michael's ECW programs. Reminder: please turn in your sold ECW Raffle tickets; drawing for the 20" Flast Screen TV/DVD is this Sunday!

Flu shots will be available at the Parish Day School - scheduled date in November to be announced. The shots will be administered from 11 AM to 2 PM. Cost is $25 per person, with rebates from providers HealthNet, AEtna Insurance, and Medicare. Please call the church office by Friday, October 28th if interested in particpating.

Volunteers needed for Tucson's Hope Fest Saturday, October 15th,
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at Tucson Electric Park to help with over 50 donated community services including dental care, medical checks, haircuts, including children's activities. If you are interested in volunteering, please pick up a "Mission Tucson" volunteer form located at the ushers' cabinet.

Quiet Day on the Feast Day of Teresa of Avila, Saturday October 15th,
from 9:00 AM until 2:30 PM, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church located at 901 W. Erie Street in Chandler. The Quiet Day, which is presented by St. Matthew's Chapter of Daughters of the King, with a brief talk on Spiritual Balance presented by the Rev. Dr. John Hall, guided meditations based on Teresa of Avila's writings presented by Betsy Zakowski. The Quiet Day will close with Holy Eucharist. Continental Breakfast at 9:00 AM; lunch and beverages will be provided. All are welcome. For information, please call Susan Doswell.

Social Concerns meeting this Sunday, October 16,
following 10 AM Mass. Informal report from Guatemala Project's summer team teacher Miluska, acolyte & soccer aficionado Jay, nurse Sarah, and coordinator Ila Short verbal presentations, lots of visuals (Sarah bought a video camera for the trip), some extra food to assuage your hunger. We spent a combined total of 164 days in Guatemala and visited 15 of the 18 rural Mayan communities with which we have a 12 year relationship.

Learn to read the bible in Hebrew
by attending Father Smith's Hebrew language class, Wednesdays at 8:40 to 10:00 AM in the Parish Library. Cost for materials is $20 perperson. Sign up at the ushers' cabinet.

Announcements for Week Ending October 9th, 2005

The Society of Mary will recite the Rosary in honor of St. Mary this coming Saturday, October 8, at 7:45 AM in the church. All are invited.

Social Concerns House Mass / Potluck / Quarterly Meeting is this Saturday, October 8th,
6:00 PM at the home of John & Shigeko Hsieh. Fr. Ireland celebrates, asks provocative questions relating to the scriptures. All are welcome. Please RSVP. Agenda: allocation of the English Faire monies; responses to "feedback" forms regarding hurricane help; prayers for Diocesan Convention (and review of resolutions).

Episcopal School Sunday next Sunday, October 9th.
Our students will participate in the Mass and choir. Attend and support our youth. Boy Scout Pancake breakfast will follow the 10:00 AM Mass ($3 donation requested).
