Attention all singers! If you want to be part of an awesome community of people, come join our choir. We have openings in all sections. Sunday School at St. Michael's, for children ages 4 through 8 and ages 9 through 12, begins Sunday, September 10th. Registration is currently taking place. The program is looking for people, both parents and parishioners, to help as Shepherds. Please contact the church office for more information.

Thanks to everyone for helping bail me out of the MDA Lock Up. Your help provides $1,200 in donations and pledges which will be used to provide program services at the UMC, support group sessions, MDA summer camp for children and research in the southern Arizona are. Love, Fr. Smith.
Pima County Interfaith Council, in collaboration with Arizona Interfaith Network, invites you to attend an Industrial Areas Foundation Leadership Training September 14th through September 16th. The overall purpose of the training is the development of relationl power capable of positively impacting the major issues and pressures affecting families in the greater Tucson area. Training will be held at Embassy Suites Hotel (by Tucsson International Airport). Registration fee is $145 (parish will help with cost), and is due by Friday, September 1st. Forms are located in the church office.

Announcements for Week Ending August 13th, 2006
Feast of the Virgin Mary is Tuesday, August 15th. Recitation of the Rosary will start at 5:45 PM, and Mass will start at 6:30 PM. Following the service will be a pot luck dinner in the Parish Center. Bring your favorite dish to share; the Society of Mary will receive your pot luck dish just prior to the Mass in the Parish Center. Beverages and dessert will be provided.
All Quilters, Knitters, and Crocheters are invited to gather with your craft this Saturday, August 12th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the home of Mary Gayle Nash. Please bring a sack lunch; beverage and dessert will be provided.
St. Michael's Quilters and Knitters have a raffle - Our first quilt is finished, and raffle tickets are available at $2.00 each. Please see Dolores Braren for raffle tickets.
Please help stock the food pantry by bringing non-perishable foods such as macaroni and cheese, tuna, canned beans/chili,canned fruit, and soups to the Mass in the Parish Center.
Weather permitting, the parking lot sealing and striping will take place this week, Thursday and Friday, August 10th and 11th. If you are visiting St. Michael's on those days, please enter using the south entrance just next to the library, and park in the alley next to the facility (near the park). The doors to the Parish Center and kitchen area will be open.
A Support Group, formed for those who have experienced a loss at some time, meets monthly. Next meeting is Monday, August 14th, 11:30 AM, at the City Grill restaurant located at 6464 E. Tanque Verde Road. Please call Peggy Speese for reservations at least three days prior to the meeting.
