Announcements for Week Ending August 14th, 2005

The Rosary will be recited this Saturday at 7:45 AM in honor of the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary. All are invited.

Mark your calendar: Feast of St. Mary the Virgin Mass on Monday, August 15, at 6:30 PM. A pot luck dinner will be held in the Parish Center immediately following the service . Bring your favorite dish to share; the Society of Mary will receive your pot luck dish just prior to the Mass in the Parish Center. Beverages will be provided.

Coffee Hour volunteers needed - come join other parish members who provide coffee and goodies after the morning service. This is a fun way of meeting others in our church community while providing a delightful and congenial service. Please see the sign up sheet in the Parish Center or call Lynette for more information.

St. Michael's Sunday School this fall will be for children ages 4 through 8 and ages 9 through 12. The program is looking for people, both parents and parishioners, to help as Shepherds. Contact information may be obtained from the the church office.

Announcements for Week Ending August 7th, 2005

Last chance to sign up for the "Taste of Tuscany” cooking class to be held this Wednesday at 10:30 AM in the Parish Center. Come learn and enjoy northern Italian Cuisine. Class includes recipes and meal. $25 per person payable just prior to the class; limited seating. Sign up sheet is located on the ushers' cabinet.

Casa Maria volunteers will meet this Friday at 6:30 PM
in the Parish Center to prepare sack lunches. Your help is needed the volunteers can always use a few extra hands and shelled hard boiled eggs, especially during this summer month. Join them for fellowship and to help with this good work.

St. Michael’s Guatemala Project -
Ila Abernathy called into the church office this week to let everyone know that things are going well. They were on there way to the third coastal community. Ila and others have a head cold, but all is going well otherwise. They will be out of communication until Saturday, August 6th. Please keep Ila and other in the group in your prayers.

Fr. Smith is joining Dolores and Courtney Braren and Karl Macomber at this year's MDA Jail-A-Thon.
Donations are needed to provide bail bond $$$ to help our folks avoid serving "jail time." Donation envelopes are located on the ushers' cabinet.

Announcements for Week Ending July 31st, 2005


A support group formed for anyone who has experienced a loss at sometime meets monthly. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 8th, at 11:30 AM, at the City Grill restaurant located at 6464 E. Tanque Verde Road. Please call Peggy Speese for reservations at least three days prior to the meeting.


Make your everyday purchases at Safeway and Alberson's add up to $$$ for St. Michael's!
Safeway: Join the "eScrip" program that will contribute up to 8% of your Safeway purchase costs. Log on to www.escrip.com, enter St. Michael's Group ID #9607798, and register. If you don't have online access and want to sign up, please call or stop by the church office, and we will do it for you. Your Safeway club card will then activate funds to St. Michael's whenever it is scanned at the check out.
Albertson's: St. Michael's has additional Albertson's Community Partners cards, in the church office. Here is how this works: present your Community Partners card to your cashier each time you shop at Albertson's, and remind your cashier to scan your card any time during your order.
These are excellent ways to help bring funds to St. Michael's Church!

Announcements for Week ending July 24th, 2005

Anglican Cycle of Prayer - let us pray and give thanks for the Diocese of Patna (North India), The Rt Revd Philip Phembuar Marandih, and its people and clergy.

Please note the time change - the Low Mass for Church Unity will now start at 12:10 PM every Friday. All are invited to attend this Church unity-building service with celebrant Fr. Carey Womble.

St. Michael's Quilters meeting in the Parish Center on Saturday, July 23rd at 10:30 AM. If you are a quilter, or interested in becoming a quilter, please contact Bonnie or Mary Gayle for details.

Announcements for Week Ending July 17th, 2005

Social Concerns meeting this Sunday, July 17th following the 8:00 AM Mass in the Parish Center. All are invited to attend.

All parishioners are invited to attend the Ordination of Deborah Royals here at St. Michael's on Saturday, July 16th at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow in the Parish Center.



All of Father Smith's Camino photos have now been uploaded
to the church web site at http://smaa.mavarin.com/Camino. However, Karen needs a little more time to finish making and uploading a few hundred thumbnail versions of the photos, and to create another 20 web pages to display the photos with Father Smith's captions. The third batch should be posted in the next day or two.

Announcements for Week Ending July 10th, 2005

Parish Office is closed Monday July 4th.
