St. Michael’s Annual Parish Meeting – Sunday, January 25th
The day will begin with coffee and donuts at 8 AM in the Parish Center. Mass will follow in Church at 9 AM. A brunch will follow the Mass in the Parish Center. PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE ONE MASS THIS DAY. This is a very important parish function with Vestry election and various parish reports. Your input and support is needed.
The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) will meet this Wednesday, beginning at 10:20 AM in the Parish Center. All women are invited and urged to attend.
PLEASE NOTE: THE PARISH OFFICES AND ST. MICHAEL’S PARISH DAY SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY, JANUARY 19, 2009 IN OBSERVANCE OF MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY. WILL REOPEN TUESDAY , JANUARY 20 AT THE REGULAR TIMES.

Opportunities for Giving
EPIPHANY GIFTS FOR PRIMAVERA - our treasure chest is now available for those who would like to donate warm clothing, new socks and underwear, blankets, and sleeping bags to help homeless men, women, and families throughout this winter season. Toiletries are also needed. The Primavera chest will be available through Sunday, February 15.
SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE MEETING – SATURDAY JAN. 17TH
Quarterly house worship / meeting / potluck at the home of Peggy Van Norman 6 PM, 2740 N. Kiva Place. We’ll begin either with Evening Prayer or with the African Mass used at the Diocesan Convention in October. Please join us! Everyone welcome. Bring a dish to add to the feast. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the first-ever FOWLER COMMUNITY SERVICE FUND special collection December 28 or sent in a donation during the following week. Total amount donated was $917 ($361 for the Project Fund for immediate use, and $556 for the Permanent Endowment). The Fund has been around since the Capital Campaign of the 1990’s, and new, full endowment guidelines were approved by the Vestry in December, 2008. Donor cards and basic information are available in the church office. You will find the Guidelines posted on the Social Action Committee bulletin board.
St. Margaret’s Altar Society, another important arm of church life at St. Michael’s, uses their member’s $10.00 annual dues for: care and upkeep of the altars, vestments, supplies of communion wafers, candles, incense and other cleaning supplies . If any guild member is uncertain whether or not their September 2008 – September 2009 dues have been paid, they may contact Frances Hicks, Treasurer.
