Bless the Beasts with St. Francis This Sunday

Feast of St. Francis

The Blessing of the Animals will take place this Sunday, October 3rd, during the morning Masses, and is open to furry, feathery, and scaly pets in all shapes and sizes. Animals are to be on leashes or in carriers. The Blessing of the Animals is celebrated each year in conjunction with the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals. Refreshments for beasts and humans will be available in the Parish Center area.

The Knitters and Quilters will meet on Saturday, October 9 at 11 AM at the Parish Center, Bring a sack lunch, your craft and join us. All are welcome!

Feast day of the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary is Thurday, October 7th. You are invited to join us for the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:45 Am on Saturday, October 9th. All are welcome, rosaries are available.

St. Michael’s Pantry, due to the increased number of food bags distributed, is running low on: fruit, beans, tuna fish, snacks, canned spaghetti, crackers, cereal soup, peanut butter and water. We thank you for your continued generosity!

Save the Date – Wednesday, October 5 at 5:00 pm in the Womble Library – the Parish Life Group will meet. Parish Life is growing, come join us and help plan some interesting and fun activities. All are welcome!

You’re invited to Dinner Club #4, an Octoberfest dinner. Bratwurst and Sauerkraut, Sauerbraten, Spaetzle and Dessert prepared by Chef Alan Schultz. The date is Sunday, October 17th at 6:00 pm. Sign up sheets in back of church. All are welcome and reservations must be made. Only $10.00 per person. Join us for a fun evening!

This is for anyone who has experienced loss: death, divorce, death of a pet, job, friendship or health. It offers a look at understanding grief, emotions, need for support and a balanced life. It’s learning to be more self-aware; with attention to mind, body, spirit; while respecting and honoring the past, finding hope for the future, and living in the present.
