√ The Genealogy Writing Club meets this Tuesday, June 26th, at 10 AM in the Womble Library. Join with them and create your "Living Will." What is a living will? It is the most precious gift you can leave your family. Leave them money? They buy a car. Within one year they have forgotten who paid for the car. But leave them your written history of the lives of their grandparents or that aunt who taught little heathens to read, and you have left them a jewel beyond price. Have you ever said, “I wish I’d asked my uncle about his World War II medal, but I never did,” or “I wish I’d asked my grandmother about her sister who drowned in the lake that summer, but I never did”? They are all dead now so it’s too late to ask. Don’t let that happen with your descendents. Join our St. Michael’s Genealogy Writing Club. Let’s do something interesting this summer. Call Sherry Terrell or Margaret Savage (phone numbers are available from the church office). Leave something truly worthwhile to your kin!
√ Sunday Lectionary Bible Study continues thru the summer twice each Wednesday at 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM. All are welcome to attend these lively discussions in the cool Womble Library.
√ Casa Maria volunteers will meet this Friday, June 29th at 5:30 PM, in the Parish Center to prepare sack lunches. Your help is needed - the volunteers can always use a few extra hands and two dozen shelled hard-boiled eggs. Join us for fellowship and to help with this good work.
Kitchen opens at 5pm, come anytime after that. Please bring 2 or 3 dozen peeled eggs, and friends and family to help! We don't get extra eggs or volunteer help from the School students in the summer. Please bring medium sized boxes for transporting the lunches.
Next Casa Maria is Friday, July 27. Mark your calendars! Casa Maria is every 4 weeks:
√ St. Michael's School of Theology continues each Sunday at 9:00 AM in the Womble Library. Currently we're watching Jesus and the Gospels, a series of lectures on DVD by Prof. Luke Timothy Johnson, a former Benedictine monk at former teacher at Yale Divinity School. All are welcome to watch these videos and join in on the lively discussions that follow them.
