Announcements for Week Ending October 1st, 2006

St. MichaelMark your calendar for St. Michael's Patronal Feast Celebration - Michaelmas - this Friday, September 29th, with High Mass at 7:00 PM followed by a communal meal in the Parish Center. Carmen Guerrero, Diocesan Canon for Peace and Justice, will present a homily at this service. Watch for the sign-up sheet for the Michaelmas communal meal.

Novel Theology - new meeting time! It looks like a better time to meet might be October 5th at 7 PM. We will plan to meet in the Parish Center or Library depending on how many people participate. The book is Snow Falling on Cedars and may be purchased at Bookman's at Grant and Speedway.

From the Curate....
"Curious." 1. Eager to learn or know. 2. Strange.
Well, your Curate is both, and I would love to share questions, news and musings with anyone in the parish who might be interested in staying in better commnication with the office. The Curious Curate's Chatter has already started, but anyone who sends in an email will be added to the list. If you are already on the list and wish to be removed, just let me know that, too. - aemerson @ stmichael.net

Social Concerns' House Mass / Pot Luck / Quarterly Meeting
is Saturday, October 7th, 5:30 PM at the home of Julia Taylor. Fr. Ed Harnsberger celebrates. We'll worshipand eat together, and look briefly at Diocesan Convention resolutions. Everyone is welcome. Contact Peggy Van Norman for agenda, or Julie Taylor for directions.

Advent BazaarCall for participants - St. Michael's Advent International Bazaar, December 2nd (5-8 PM) and December 3rd (9 AM-3 PM). Parish artists and socially-committed community non-profit groups are invited to sell their holiday wares. The non-profits take home all their money; parish artists donate 10% to the St. Michael's group of their choice. The bazaar typically hosts 20 to 30 small groups and artists, and is our gift to the community. It is also a cheerful outreach mission of the church, which we would like to expand with your help. To help, reserve table space, or recommend a group, please contact Ila Abernathy.
