Announcements Through March 8, 2014

SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER ~ MARCH 4 ~ 5:30–6:30 PM. Cooking and clean-up help gladly accepted. Donations of juice, fruit, syrup and sausage etc. also will be gratefully received. Sign - up sheets available in back of church. UPDATE! The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper has been canceled for this week, but will return next year!

Join us this Tuesday, March 4 for Taize Service of Meditation at 6:45 pm. It is a wonderful way of stress relief, meditation and relaxing from the busy - ness of life. All are invited.

Lent begins this week with Ash Wednesday!  Here is the schedule:

St. Michael’s Guatemala Project Call for 2014 Summer Teams – Applications due March 1 for early confirmation, until May 1 for remaining slots. Volunteers interested in joining small teams of 3 to 6 people to visit the rural Maya of the CPR-Sierra for 2 to 8 weeks are invited to contact the Coordinator, ilaa@mindspring.com, (520)623-3063, for an application and detail, and to check www.guatemalaproject.org. Teams are active from June through early August. ALL PARTICIPANTS PAY THEIR TRAVEL AND OTHER EXPENSE. Note to St. Michael’s – This announcement has gone out to our general lists and UA first-year medical students. Now we need you! 

CASA MARIA VOLUNTEERS WILL MEET THIS FRIDAY, MARCH 7 at 5:00 PM, in the Parish Center to prepare sack lunches. Your help is needed - the volunteers can always use a few extra hands and two dozen SHELLED hard-boiled eggs. Join us for fellowship and to help with this good work.


KNITTERS AND CROCHETERS WILL MEET SATURDAY, MARCH 8TH AT 10 AM IN THE SCHOOL ART ROOM. YOU ARE INVITED TO JOIN US WITH YOUR CRAFT. ENJOY LIVELY CONVERSATION AND FELLOWSHIP. BRING A SACK LUNCH IF YOU WISH!


Our “Can because You Can” ongoing Food Drive to keep our food pantry stocked is progressing. In the coming weeks, we can use tuna fish, canned fruit, crackers, peanut butter and cereal. As always, the need is great and we thank you for your continued generosity. Just bring a can or a box each time you come to church!
